Nature & culture to experience
Beyond Parcines, the surrounding area offers countless opportunities for discovery. Just a few kilometres away, the spa town of Merano radiates a Mediterranean atmosphere with its elegant arcades and magnificent gardens. Nature enthusiasts will find a wide range of hiking, mountain biking and adventure options in the surrounding valleys. Each season has its own charm: in spring, the apple orchards are in bloom; in autumn, the forests turn vibrant colours; and in summer, the Parcines outdoor swimming pool invites you to relax (free admission for Siegi guests).
Merano City
A visit to Merano is not only worthwhile for shopping: the Merano thermal baths offer relaxing wellness moments, while you can find refreshment in the small cafés. Historic castles such as Trauttmansdorff with its botanical gardens or Tyrol Castle provide insights into history and culture. There is also much to discover in terms of cuisine – taste South Tyrolean wine in the vineyards of St. Pauls or enjoy a traditional Kaiserschmarren in the village of Tyrol.
Being active around Parcines
For those who wish to experience nature actively, Parcines and its surroundings offer countless possibilities:
gentle walking paths through apple orchards, panoramic high routes, challenging summit tours and via ferratas.
Cyclists enjoy both leisurely valley routes and more demanding mountain bike trails.
Adventurous guests can explore climbing routes, canoeing or a variety of outdoor activities in the Texel Group.
Here, movement is possible in all altitude ranges – from gentle to alpine.
Merano High Mountain Trail
The Merano High Mountain Trail is one of the most beautiful circular routes in the Alps – and for our guests, it’s just a short cable-car ride away. With the Texel Cable Car, accessible directly from our house, you can glide effortlessly into the fresh mountain air of the Texel Group. Whether you prefer gentle hiking, breathtaking views over the Adige Valley, or quiet moments in untouched nature, you’ll find high-altitude air, wide horizons, and authentic mountain experiences awaiting you. Perfect for those who wish to combine tranquility with adventure.
Hike to Tyrol Castle
The historic Tyrol Castle towers above Merano and the Burgraviate, and can be reached wonderfully on foot. The route passes through vineyards, along the famous Tappeiner Trail and past characteristic farms and viewpoints. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a panoramic view over the entire valley. Its museum offers in-depth insights into Tyrol’s rich history.
Pfossental Valley – authentic & romantic
As one of the most pristine side valleys of the Merano region, the Pfossental impresses with its authenticity: historic farms, alpine huts and a striking high-alpine landscape. Perfect for extended hikes, traditional dining on mountain huts or simply for pausing and taking in the moment.

Schnalstal Valley & Archeoparc
Just a short drive from Parcines, the Schnalstal Valley opens up with its glacier landscapes, rustic alpine huts and places steeped in history. Hikers will find magnificent high-altitude trails and tranquil side valleys. A highlight is the Archeoparc in Madonna di Senales, which vividly recreates the living environment of Ötzi.
