In Parcines, a charming mountain village above Merano, you will experience living tradition and alpine charm. Directly outside the door, the Texel Group Nature Park offers excellent trekking and cycling opportunities. We recommend the Waalweg for families and the more demanding Merano High Mountain Trail for experienced hikers – or those aspiring to become one.
For a more leisurely experience, enjoy an e-bike tour through the apple orchards or a visit to Juval Castle by Reinhold Messner. In the evening, return and perhaps finish the day with a Tyrolean snack accompanied by mountain views.
The Parcines Waterfall
A natural wonder full of power and vitality
Just a few minutes’ walk from the village centre, the Parcines Waterfall plunges more than 90 metres into the depths – one of the highest and most impressive waterfalls in South Tyrol. Its thunder can be heard from afar, but only up close can you truly feel the full force of this natural spectacle.
The fine mist in the air is rich in negative ions, which are proven to promote well-being, support the respiratory system and have an invigorating effect on both body and mind. For this reason, the waterfall is considered a true place of energy – ideal for anyone wishing to combine nature and health.
Several well-maintained paths lead to the waterfall, including the family-friendly panoramic trail and the slightly more challenging forest trail. Whether you enjoy the spray from the viewing platform or choose to follow the path to the upper edge: this is an experience that will stay with you. A visit to the waterfall is worthwhile in every season – powerful in spring, refreshing in summer and wonderfully atmospheric in autumn.
